Translation had been a part of my life long before I launched my own translation business in 2012. I’ve been in love with English for quite a while now. There have naturally been a whole lot of other things I also found interesting (many of us realize that life somehow resembles a haphazardly winding road, right?), so I’ve gained diverse experience that would support my translation work:
As someone with a PhD in Economics, I know what research is… even during translation: I thoroughly dig myself into the topic of the ongoing translation project, with careful vocabulary and with due enthusiasm to explore a new field, as the case may be. I am a life long learner. The last time I learned something new, it was… see below.
As a former volunteer in another field of my life, I know how valuable it is to go the extra mile. Moreover, as part of the social responsibility of my business, I am willing to support valuable causes with pro bono translations… see below.
As a trained counsellor, I communicate readily and with ease: getting and keeping in touch and discussing the project appropriately are high priority.
As a mother, I know how important flexibility is: it's second nature. Imagine the benefits of this in a translation project.
People have so much to say all over the world. An immense amount of text is being produced and published. Globally, half of the online content is written in English, and there are loads of English corporate, training, product information and official texts. They are the starting point, and the goal is often to have their Hungarian version. Nowadays, there are several ways to accomplish that. Some of these ways don’t even need to include a living person*. But why would you choose not to?
If environmental consciousness and information security are factors you tend to take into consideration, if you value human connection, if you prefer coordinating your projects in real life, if you appreciate receiving feedback about the source text (typos, inconsistencies), if it creates value for you that the translator necessarily and meticulously analyzes the text during performing the translation, and evaluates how the message might land with the intended audience…
*AI disclaimer: I do NOT use machine translation and artificial intelligence in my translation process. I don’t upload or feed my clients’ texts into any model or AI-platform. I deliver 100% human translation. In case the clients themselves prepare a pre-translation via their own model, software, or bot, I’m happy to edit that.

I’m a happy life long learner, and find fulfilment in improving the quality of my translations through the things I learn.
My recent learning experiences that allowed me to explore a new field or to dig deeper into a known one:
